Mysteryland Mainstage

Mysteryland Festival Team

Mysteryland Festival in Amsterdam, the Netherlands is the longest consecutively running electronic music festival in Europe. It was a huge honor to be asked to design their 2016 Main Stage with their amazing creative team of creative director Eveline Wilting, decor director and co-designer Jake Kooi, technical designer Bart Straver, set painter Marieke set builder Brok Decor and lighting team T-Minus Design.

Hummingbird design inspiration

Like the humming bird that travels great distances to be with its resonant family, Mysteryland festival goers gather together to resonate with music.

The humming bird totem represents joy, lightness of being, and living in the present moment, just as Mysteryland is about drinking fully from the nectar of life: our art, music and a shared culture of creativity. We are the humming birds that have returned home and discovered the garden once again.

As we sway and surrender to the dance, we echo the movement of the hovering humming bird wings that flap in the pattern of the infinity symbol, a representation of the eternal now. It reminds us that when we are fully present, we are open , grateful, genuine, and joyful. In those moments, we uncover the beautiful mystery of human resonance, and take it with us to pollinate the world.
